Dr. David Russ is a parent and a psychologist. As a psychologist he specializes in treating severe anxiety. He has researched, done post-grad training and has experience treating hundreds of anxious patients. As a parent he knows what it is like to have an anxious child. He has stayed up, encouraged, argued, prayed and agonized over his own anxious child. As a result he is in the rare position of being able to approach the problem from both perspectives. He knows what it is like being the clinician in a professional office and also being a dad on the morning his child refuses to go to school. This is where you figure out what really works. And what doesn’t. It is this experience that went into creating Turnaround.
Dr. Russ received his PhD from Georgia State University in 1992. His dissertation was original research using directed writing as a treatment for anxiety. He has post-graduate training in treating OCD from the Behavior Therapy Training Institute for both adults and children. He is a member of the IOCDF and ADAA.
